No really it’s still the worst of times. Seven straight losses, offense still couldn’t score last night.

Last night was lipstick on the pig of the 2024 season. I’m afraid it will be used to argue all is okay, we don’t need changes we’ve figured it out.

NO! Relying on your defense to score 17 points is not sustainable. It covered up a ton of weakness on offense. In spite of Za Williams great game, MB getting over 1000 yards. Finally hitting a corner route, was that the first one we’ve hit this season? The offense is still very very offensive.

Let’s hope the right decisions were/are made outside of last night’s outstanding performance by the defense.

Apologies to Aloha “Polly Anna” Ute, all is not good. When you’re driving toward a cliff you don’t keep the driver because they have 20 plus years of driving experience. You jerk the wheel back and correct to get back on the road. For me this has been two of the worst experiences as a fan.

Sal, yes if Whit and Cam come back, I will not be watching next year. I’ll find something else to do with my time and $$$.

Nothing was fixed last night. Utah just had the great fortune of running into a team with even worse QB play on the same night its defense took advantage of opportunities.

If anything, last night further cemented my opinion that while I believe Whitt should get the opportunity to revamp his staff and a prove it year, my preference would be for him to step down on Monday after Scalley has had all weekend to call recruits and let them know that the change is coming. New OC also needs to be announced asap even if he’s staying with his current team for their bowl game.

Signing day being on Wednesday with the portal the week after means that if it’s going to happen, it needs to be quick and as painless as possible. Waiting until January like Saban did would really put Utah behind the eight ball.

All is not well. Mistakes were made, there were poor decisions made. But there were also a lot of injuries this season, including to all but one QB.

Glad this one is over. Now the real game is afoot. Will be fun to watch what new direction is taken or not taken. Hoping for the best.

We know who our next HC is: Scalley.

I don’t care if Whitt comes back or not. BUT, if he comes back, I want the following stipulation:

He has NO SAY in ANY offensive decision. Turn the offense over to Scalley. Let Scalley hire, make gametime decisions, have final say in the depth chart, etc.

Over the past 20 years Whitt has shown he is incompetent when it comes to leading the offense and The University of Utah Athletic Department would be crazy to let him continue to f**k it up.

Good to end on a positive note. Stoked for Bottari. Could see him as a successful coach someday. Ahh yes. A tale of two tenured coaches, 5 QBs and a lame duck AD. Interesting how things play out over the next two weeks. IW was not managed well and may need a fresh start himself. Way more behind the scenes than we all know. Crazy KW and Ludwig started their coaching careers in 1987. Way too many rookie coach level mistakes by KW this season and the same historic offense issues plaguing the program that aren’t going to change. KW reluctance to change came to a head this season. KW’s done amazing work for Utah football. He’s run his course. Time to pass the torch to a new generation of coaches. Go Utes!
