ParticipantThe word is that they have been negotiating. I hope Alex can pull this off. Having those two on staff will help with recruiting IMO. Both are overachievers and worked hard for everything the achieved. They would make a great pair.
Go Utes!!!

ParticipantOur point guard play has been nonexistent for many years. Andre can recruit and develop a good prospect. Both Miller and Jensen were the epitome of hard work and being great teammates. Utah basketball is finally back on track.

ParticipantMike has actually been one of the bright spots on this team IMO. He is a good point guard, and an excellent passer. The offense is much better with him on the floor. He is far better than anyone we’ve had since Delon at PG stuff.

ParticipantYeah Chin. Mike has done surprisingly well but he is more suited as a secondary ball handler. Hope he sticks around another year. Jensen will figure out a way to use him and KD.

ParticipantI’m going to disagree with you there. He’s been a great point guard, and if the team around him is better, he’ll be even better. Our problems this year have had nothing to do with getting into our offense. We struggle with stupid turnovers (not his fault), and missing free throws. If those two issues were fixed we’d be a tourney team.

ParticipantIf you were a top PG prospect why wouldn’t you want to come play for and learn from a college All-American, first round draft pick, 17 year NBA veteran? Especially considering you have zero competition in front of you to worry about. If you are a big, why wouldn’t you want to play for the coach that is credited for developing Rudy Gobert into the player he is today? I have not been this excited for Utah basketball since Larry’s third season on the hill. I am dusting off my Majerus Rebok sweater and getting it ready!

ParticipantNot sure how to take your title as if you have some inside intel of what’s going on behind the scenes that seems Andre is not a sure a bet to return like previous social media reports indicated. I know to take social media with a huge grain of salt, but previous posts alluded to or made it seem as if he’s been waiting for the call to come back for a long time now. I would think or assume that what was being posted was that he was 100% on board with returning as either HC or assistant, didn’t matter.
If that changed or was never the case to begin with, then shame on those who posted false information. If AJ
is trying to convince Andre to come back in some capacity, hope he doesn’t have to try very hard and that mutual agreements can be made that is satisfying to all parties involved. Go UTES!-

ParticipantSteve Bartle yesterday said that Andre made “strong impressions” in his own head coaching interview so it sounds like he got a chance to try for the HC gig. Maybe he wants to come to Utah but also wants to be a head coach and the fact he may have gotten a chance at all to be the head coach is causing his own personal dilemma. Do you stay as head coach of a G-League team or become an assistant at Utah. I can understand why that would make anyone unsure of what decision to make.

ParticipantGood question Rick. Only Andre knows the answer. He is beloved by the community and has a chance to bring his alma mater back to relevance. Plus he and Alex are close and would work well as a team. Lots of reasons to come home. We need you Andre!!

ParticipantNo Van Horn. Not that I don’t want him, but it’s unlikely.
