When he would take that handoff and you saw some space at the line you knew it was going to be electric. One of the most fun Utes to watch in a while imo

He really was. That what was missing from Booker’s game…that breakaway speed. Whats the difference between Ezekial Elliot and Booker? That Joe Williams speed.

I’m going to miss Williams. What a great story, what a great kid. I hope he gets a shot at the next level and figures out his fumbling issues, because if he does…watch out.

It was sort of like watching Shaky.  You knew if there was a window, magic was going to happen.

With Shaky, one of two things would happen: (1) kick return for a TD, or (2) a muffed punt. Watching him field a punt gave me serious anxiety.

I was so proud of the way Joe came back to the team and did nothing but give his all every time he touched the ball. There honestly is no better story in CFB this year than Joe’s.

I can see Joe having a good career at the next level if he can clean up the ball control issues he has from time to time.

Good luck, Joe! Thanks for being a Ute!

Another positive: Joe’s story drives Cougar fans nuts.

Yeah I guess Wazzu fans are jealous that their team doesn’t even attempt to run the ball, while their vaunted Air Raid offense seems to have crashed like a lead balloon.     😉

I bet Wazzu fans will be jealous when they stumble with a new QB next year. It was a year and half ago that Wazzu fans wanted Leach fired coming off a 4 win season and loss to a FCS team.

I’d rather have Whitt than any other coach in the PAC-12.

BUT, I’d rather be in So Cal or have Phil Knight than have Whitt.

Side note. His fumble in the game was not a fumble.

Yes it was even if we know it wasn’t it was called that way. Also Indiana did their homework they knew they could stand up Joe and strip the ball. Joe is a great speedster and would work great if he had better hands.

If he doesn’t get contact and stood up he is a great back.

There was one play of his I had to back up and re-watch several times.  He took the handoff and ran into a pack of defenders and then it looked like he was shot out of there by some propulsion method.  I’ve never seen someone accelerate out of a group of defenders as fast as that.  It actually looked like they sped up the broadcast to a higher speed.

It was also nice to see him shake off the fumble and come back like he did.  I hope we get to see him in the NFL.
