In the 18 years Kyle has been the head man at Utah, I can think of only 4 years where Utah’s offense hasn’t been below average and somewhat hard to watch. You cannot minimize offense for 18 years and expect to have offensive playmakers lining up to play for you. Receivers don’t want to be blockers and QB’s don’t want to be run facilitators. Last night, even the commentators called our game a snoozer. Kyle needs to stop seeing himself as a defensive coach. He is just as much the coach of the offense as the defense. The offense needs his attention desperately right now. Last year, after the Florida game, Kyle was irate with the soft defense and took extreme measures to correct it, including rough practices at spring and fall camps. Where is that level of concern for what the offense has been putting out? He is the coach of the offense too! He needs to accept it and responsibility for it. No more blaming the coordinators. He needs a philosophy shift. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for Whitt. I just know how incredible we could be if he just changed his offensive philosophy to be at least moderatively offensive minded.

I agree. It’s been tough to watch for sure.

Whitt’s the CEO. He hires the specialists to do their jobs and should be holding them accountable. If Scalley’s defense was giving up 40 per (roughly the equivalent of what we are seeing out of the offense), we would be calling him out right now.

I don’t think this actually reflects the reality of what has gone on this year.

Bad results = Kyle doesn’t care about offense and never has is pretty baseless. And frankly, lazy.

The situation with cam is the strangest thing imaginable and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it ever, anywhere in football.

All indications had been forever that Cam would be cleared to go. So the coaches planned accordingly. And then for some mysterious mystery he’s holding out. The rightly sainted OnlyU bet his house that cam would go by UCLA. That should tell you something about how crazy this is. He doesn’t get it wrong. And nobody in their right mind is bringing in a top tier qb transfer under those circumstances.

Kyle and staff put everything in place for a good offense. Wideout transfers from USC, FSU and Indiana. Tight end from Auburn. An rb room that was stacked to the hilt when camp started. I imagine had Rose stayed healthy we’d be in a much better position right now, probs, 5-0. We’re forced to play qb 3-4. That’s doesn’t go well. Ask the 49ers.

We’re the raining 2 time champs, lest we forget. So crapping on coaches and saying Kyle is just being his same stubborn old self when we have the craziest voodoo imaginable working against us is not it.
