You’ve lost the fans and more importantly the locker room. This isn’t Utah football anymore. This is mentally weak, terrible leadership/decisions and wretched to watch football. We hit the under on a 36.5 spread. Coaches and players from the opposing teams are openly saying they know what play is coming. Week after week. You elevated the program and deserve much love. But it’s now going the opposite direction. And very fast. Go enjoy retirement. Thank you for everything but it’s time.

Yup, it’s over. Whitt is not cut out for modern CFB anymore. Why do opposing teams know what we are gonna do? Because we run the same predictable, conservative plays. We should be running deep routes and taking shots downfield. I was watching the game sparingly, but I don’t think I ever saw Brandon Rose take a downfield shot. Why not? They wouldn’t expect it, and it would most likely be 1 on 1. I’d rather take the downfield shot and get nothing, but scare the defense, than run for 2 yards. Whitt needs to realize that the game is heavily skewed towards offense nowadays. Your defense can be the best in the world, but if your offense stinks, or is very conservative/predictable and you can’t move the ball, your defense will fatigue and break eventually. I didn’t think I’d say this, but Whitt needs to retire and let Scalley take over, and hire a home run OC. Scalley needs to have a fundamentally different approach to offense, in which mistakes are just part of the game, not something to avoid at all cost. We need to get the OC hire right, and we need to get a portal QB. If Isaac decides to transfer, so be it, but we can’t afford to get this wrong next year.

I agree with 90% of what you wrote. Just wanted to correct that Rose did take one shot down field. The throw looked terrible, it was into double coverage, and we are lucky our WR prevented an interception.

I disagree. That long ball was a play that McLain needs to make. Rose was throwing the ball on target. Even his pick shouldn’t have been because Ryan stood there and let a defender beat him to the ball.
Rose’s first full drive the receivers dropped 3 balls. The second drive he kept hitting his spots and took them to a TD. After that, the offense went into turtle mode with a one score lead. I wasn’t impressed with the new OC in last year’s bowl and don’t feel any better about him now.

Yeah, but that’s Rose throwing into double coverage that’s the problem. Hence why I said to throw 1 on 1 50/50 balls.

The picture is becomming clearer and clearer; the past 2 years werent just bad injury luck–they were poorly managed and coached. The inability to have a contingency for your most important position is baffling, he looks lost, time for fresh blood–we’re in a death spiral, you dont keep the same approach and expect different results

I absolutely love that people are coming around to common sense.

Mike Norvell has done the worst coaching job in the country this year, but there is an argument to be made Whitt is 2nd. Arizona and Houston are awful teams. ASU and TCU are mediocre teams. To have a 4 game losing streak to that group of 4 is just pathetic.

Let alone with the amount of talent that is on this. It’s certainly not for a lack of playmakers.
