Edit: It’s not odd apparently, because he couldn’t cut it. And so it goes.

There’s a reason that we started an RB at corner for the Rose Bowl. He probably didn’t pan out.

LPJ biggest problem was after 3 years in the program he was still only 170lbs. He just couldn’t gain the weight and strength necessary to compete at this level.

Great kid and teammate gave 110% but with everyone healthy he was going to be buried on the depth chart next season

We were thick at DB, but had 7-8 guys get injured over the year…and they still wouldn’t play LPJ

Not surprised he’s leaving, but I do feel bad for the guy. Seems to have been pretty heavily effected by the loss of Aaron Lowe. I hope he goes somewhere where he gets the support he needs.

Best of luck to LPJ. Hope he lands somewhere he can play and display some of the Utah leadership he learned during his time as a Ute. All things considered, sometimes change and a new start is good. Would not be surprised to see a few more from the CB room find a better place to get their shot beyond STs at Utah.

After Broughton and Marks not sure who the next up CBs are especially since it’s not clear what level the injuries are going into Spring Ball. Marks needs reps. Mataele is too slow for CB. Some have mentioned Savage, but he’s going into year three and has been on the field only at STs. Utes may be deep in numbers, but shallow in talent, outside of CPIII, Broughton, and Marks who is yet to prove he’s at the level of what Utah needs to compete as a top level program. Maybe Malaska steps up? He’s another one of those three start recruits with Utah as the top school that offered him. CB is such a critical position for Utah to play the defense they’re known for. I suspect Florida does what tOSU does and goes right after the weakside CB and the deep middle it they can get some good pass blocking. tOSU owned Utah’s Dline most of the game. Utah had zero sacks against tOSU, not gonna get it done against Florida.

Edit:  You just s**t on a college kid from behind a cloak of anonymity on the internet, do you feel better about your life?
