hire one coach that was previously employed by BYU. Sitake, Lamb, Detmer, who ever. Who would you hire?

I’d take Tuiaki back in a heartbeat.

I’d bet most of us would take a coach other than Kalani.

Which is very telling. Hell, It wouldn’t shock me if Tuiaki gets hired away this December to be a DC at a bigger school (Arizona’s for example, maybe even UCLA). I think Tuiaki has shown more than Kalani ever has.

Might be why BYU sucks so badly. Ha ha.

Also, what happens if Ed Lamb gets the UTEP job and Tuiaki goes to Arizona as a DC? or ASU or UCLA?

BYU would have no proven coaches on their staff…and I’m not sure Kalani is proven. What has he done? He was good under Kyle…but the LB’er were always Utah’s weakness. He was terrible at OSU. He was good last year at BYU, but his schedule was cake and he had four NFL players. Once they left, he has been terrible.

      Ha ha.

In a vacuum id take kalani but Morgan has earned that job and I would not supplant him with a guy who chose to leave

Why Kalani? What players has he put into the NFL? Tuiaki has put more players in the NFL. Tuiaki has been a better coordinator. Tuiaki is just as good of a recruiter.

I think if the staff was all let go, Tuiaki would end up with the better coordinator job. I’d bet that Sitake ended up at a G5 school as a coordinator. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tuiaki ended up at a P5 school.

I do agree that Morgan has earned the job. Also, IF…or should I say when this happens, I don’t think we take any of their coaches.

Also, rumors of Guy Holiday being offered the UTEP job at the end of the season.  Someone from TDS that could replace him or just hit the shelter with a ‘Coach for food?’ sign?

If we lose Guy Holliday we need to replace him with another LEGIT WR coach. That position is too important to dick around with. Holliday has been fabulous.

Have them all submit their resume’ in a broader search should Utah need to fill in coaches who get hired away for promotions.  Don’t like the local shopping mentality.  Lamb would probably be a solid candidate.  Detmer seems like a bust, and Sitake would probably be out looking for a head coaching or DC job at a G5 school.

Detmer, because our grad assistants need someone to order them pizza.

It’s going to be cool when Coach Andersen & Sitake end up working under Scalley on the defensive side in a few years.  TIC

I know that is TIC, but I NEVER want to see Andersen and Sitake on the Utah sideline ever again. Nothing personal against them.

And Morgan Scalley needs to go be an HC somewhere else before moving up at Utah.

Outside of Tulaki or maybe lamb, I’m not sure I’d want anyone.

I’d consider Lamb.  He seemed to be a pretty good recruiter at SUU.  I don’t know much about Tuiaki, but I never want to see Sitake here except when he comes in with his sorry-ass team from down south.

Kind of a moot point, because outside of Sitake I don’t think there’s a viable candidate out there.
