      Logan Fano coming to Utah?

      Looks like we got a reliable Crystal Ball for him! This would be a HUGE get if you ask me.

        Just under a 4 star recruit according to the composite and he holds offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington and Utah. Yes it would be a huge get. If he can play his senior year, he’ll probably get the bump to 4 star.

          And in addition to all that you listed, Fano is the #2 rated prospect in the state. It’s important to follow up last year’s strong instate turnout and land the bulk of the top talent in our backyard.

          He’s a 4* according to the 247 ratings, and those are more accurate.  Composite is just them gathering ratings from all around the internet, and averaging them out.  The experts for 247 actually put in the work to get relatively accurate ratings.

            Yes. But a high three star composite is a good player. As you point out, he is a 4 star recruit and Pace normally bad mouths Whitt for not landing 4 stars. Now he’s bad mouthing this kid that is a 4 star. Definitely a zoob.

        Yes Pacemaker, huge. 2nd best player in state, 4 star DE, either 1st or 2nd best WDE Utah has ever signed, only other higher ranked DE’s would be Van Fillinger, Xavier Carlton, and Maxs Tupai.

          One of Pace’s biggest complaints about Whit is him losing in state recruits.  So what does he do when we land one……  Troll.  BYU fan Trolling Ute fans.

            He says stupid things.  No, wait, he doubles down on the stupid things he normally says.  The guy is a mindless troll with the same song on every post.

          I thought the same thing right when I read his response.

          Pace: “Whit sucks. He cannot even sign the top in-state players.”

          <Whit signs top-rated in-state players>

          Pace: “Whit sucks. He needs to spread his wings and sign out-of-state players.”

      That’s awesome news! I’ve been wondering how we were doing with Fano. Definitely a huge instate get!

      Dresden, any other good recruiting news you’ve come across?

        Nothing yet. I just constantly hit refresh on the 247sports page and sometimes the Sports Illustrated page. I’m desperate for Utah football news but don’t want to fork over cash for premium content at 247.

        It’s an obsession at this point how often I’m checking on Utah recruiting and updates and such. I have no insider knowledge whatsoever but I’m constantly anxious to get some great talent on the hill.

          Haha, I feel the exact same way…totally obsessed with all things Ute Football! I was listening to Bartle interview Huffman today on ESPN700 and found his take on this year’s recruiting cycle with COVID interesting because he thinks there’s going to be a high number of decommittments/flips this year since kids haven’t been able to take official visits and have committed so early. He thought it could end up benefiting Utah with how well we’ve closed out our classes the past couple of years…hope he’s right!

            What will also be really interesting is all of the rising high school seniors in states like California where there is likely not going to be any high school football. It will cause chaos in the recruiting. Some players that were primed to shine and get attention won’t have that opportunity (which could help schools that had targeted them earlier). Some players will move out of state to play at a new school – which could have positive and negative impacts on their opportunities, depending on how that transition goes. It is going to be a mess.
