Lots of Cougs in the office today bemoaning Carrington’s presence on our team.

      They are jealous. And scared.

      I love it.

Well, they have been bothered since the news he was transferring, but I can understand why they are now a little hotter about it seeing him last night.

It will be fun to see Singleton and the others get tons of catches because they are trying to double team Carrington. Ah who am I kidding, they won’t be able to catch him and he will still catch 10.

They all secretly wish they had a player like Carrington.  Self-righteousness is their defense mechanism.

I am OOO today, but man, I would love to hear the tds-p takes on our game yesterday.

I can see it now: Utah looked ok, but not great. Tanner didn’t have an interception in our game so I think BYU wins for sure.

But Utah beat an arguably better fcs team by more points (again, fcs team and first game, but still apples to apples). Yeah, but we have Ty Freaking Detmer and it’s not a fair comparison.

How is it not a fair comparison? Because BYU played vanilla offense.

Utah played vanilla offense too. How do you mean? Well byu didn’t have Butch Pau’u in the game.

Butch plays defense. How does that relate to offense? I just think BYU wins this year since it’s in Provo.

You read Cougarboard for the entertainment too?

LOL, no, but maybe I should.  I try to avoid that place as much as possible.

Probably because they know they have nobody who could cover him.

They’ll just double and triple team him, since you know no one else can catch a pass according to them.

Double teaming him won’t play out very well for them.  Our other receivers aren’t as good as Carrington, but they will make them pay if they disregard them.

          Guess we’ll find out.

Your coworkers don’t believe in forgiveness, apparently. The State of Oregon on the other hand DOES believe in forgiveness. They specified a punishment for Carrington and once that is complete they will expunge the conviction.

On another note, Carrington seems to LOVE the environment at Utah. I have seen and heard statements from Oregon players who absolutely hated the treatment they got at Oregon, and won’t return to support the program. That is too bad. It seems U of Zero should have higher quality fans…

Oh, they believe in forgiveness alright….for BYU players.  They think Utah has an obligation to go above and beyond the law.

Look, Carrington was punished by the law already.  It’s not Utah’s responsibility to go above and beyond the courts, nor should it be.

They bring up the fact that having him “violates Utah’s core values.”  Umm, no it doesn’t.  Did Carrington get a DUI while at Utah?  No.  And if he did, he will face consequences.

Of course, all this fake outrage is just them being jealous and fearful of us having Carrington.

        Asshats.  All of ’em.

I don’t mind all of the silly stuff. But I do not like seeing those asshats disparaging the character of our our coaches and players.

Yes, he made a mistake. And if Oregon had a stable coaching staff after last year he would still play for the Ducks (prob sit out this week). But Coach Taggart is the new guy in town and had to set an example, so Carrington went down the road.

Taggart did the right thing, and so did Whitt.

I don’t see a huge difference in the Carrington situation vs Kyle Van Noy.

I am sure they see it differently as Van Noy sat out a year by choice (per Bronco’s request) to attend BYU.  Seems it worked out well for both him and Bronco.  And Bronco seemed to have kept him on the straight and narrow.  Hoping Whittier can provide the same for Carrington and he can enjoy an NFL career as well.
