      I don’t follow the NFL closely, but I’m surprised that Buffalo and Denver are in a wild card game. I would have assumed that Buffalo would be a playoff lock and Denver wouldn’t have won enough games to even get a wild card shot.

        Only 1 team gets a bye week, which is KC in the AFC. Bills are the 2nd seed, and Denver was the last team, the 7th seed, to make the playoffs in the AFC.

        The Bills are the second seed so they were a lock. It used to be that the first two seeds received a first round bye. A couple of years ago they added another team to the playoffs so only the one seed gets it.
