Ludwig’s system could be good under certain circumstances. His offense was built around using formations and motions to show the QB certain things about the defense. The QB then needs to make a few pre and post-snap reads, and hopefully exploit weaknesses and mismatches. It worked pretty well with a QB who could do all of that reliably (Huntley or Rising). The problem is that the offense was predictable, and if the QB doesn’t check out of certain plays, the defense has a field day. Rising was (more often than not) mentally one step ahead of the defense. Wilson is not. Why Ludwig can’t make some changes to help with that situation is beyond me. I think the hope is that Bajakian can run the offense in a way that will help Wilson succeed with his current level of skill and experience.
