Based on RPIs, it is interesting that he has Zona and ASU in, and then USC and UCLA in the last four in group.

It appears that RPI has become increasingly less important as a measure of tournament eligibility over the last few years.

As well it should as there are better measurements out there. Yet for some reason it appears it’s still what’s being used for the whole quadrant angle they’re using this year.

Seriously though, if you had to pick ASU or Utah for your tournament, which would it be?  ASU has a couple of great wins, but has been in a slide lately.

And those great wins happen to be @ Kansas and vs. Xavier, who both won their conference regular season championships and are currently projected as #1 seeds. That’s why they are in right now.

I’m kind of tired of being just in or outside of Bubbleville yet again in early March. Now, with that said, had you asked me back in October if I thought this year’s squad had a shot at going to the NCAA tourney, I’d have said no way. Yet here they are on the cusp of barely making it or barely missing it.

I’m not even sure what consolation I take from being in this position with this team. I’m kind of mad that I’m going to be disappointed if we win a couple conf tourney games and don’t make it.

With that all said, I’m stoked for next year.
