ParticipantPSA: new crystal ball from Greg Biggins has Makai Cope headed our way, although only a score of 6. Don’t know much about him, but like that he’s over 6′ tall and a high 3* guy.
fingers crossed

ParticipantIt seemed like OnlyU thought he’d hey a ratings bump too. At least we have good news on the recruiting front with no football for the second straight week.

ParticipantYeah, listed at 6’3″ 200 lb, pretty good size for a HS WR! Hope he’s fast, too.

Participant6’3”/200 now. High priority for Stanford so would be a nice steal. Really think he’s a 4 star guy if they had been able to evaluate him this Fall. Add him and the Tulane decommit – Williams and we’re in very nice shape. Can’t over state how good Money Parks has a chance to be. Was told that “he’s every bit as good as Marvin Mims just doesn’t have the height.” We get those two guys we’ve upgraded yet another position group IMO.

ParticipantOnlyU, just curious about Kahanu Kia. Now that Ethan Calvert committed, which is AMAZING, are we still pursuing Kia? Seems like he’d still be a great pickup for this class and could add even more depth to either our LB group or maybe to our Safeties if he dropped a little weight? I realize Notre Dame is now considered a front runner but with him being a legacy kid and mission bound, seems like he’s a much better fit at Utah…no?

ParticipantKia is a mission kid most likely so he’s absolutely still in play and we’d take him. Jefferson likely becomes a DE and could even end up on O, same with Ellis…who knows what he’ll play here. Lander Barton next year (if we get him) is a DE in College and with missions these guys will be spread out for a while. Because of that Kia would fit extremely well. The allure of ND will be a challenge to overcome but it’s not over yet.
Williams committed to Tulane to play both Football and Basketball. Not many schools were open to that but he has an expanding number of teams interested now. He’s not a big guy but extremely athletic and would be a really nice addition and we’re in a good spot.
Cope has waited long enough for some schools to kinda move on which really makes Utah the best place for him to land. I’d say we’ll likely get both unless something crazy happens. Kia is 50/50…maybe a little lower.

ParticipantVery cool to hear about Cope. Hope we get him, we don’t seem to get many WR over 6′ it seems?
Excited for Parks too – cool to see a freshman WR come in like that.
What makes the Tulane guy so good? Is he just under evaluated? All I know is that he’s rated an 81 IIRC?
And as always, many thanks OnlyU.
