PoochoParticipant
This reads like BYU tried and missed on Snowden and Tanuvasa. Word I’ve heard is Tanuvasa is likely USC or possibly Michigan, but that BYU has lost confidence in landing him.

I hate vague posting. It’s so damn dumb.
-
PoochoParticipant
True, but plenty of times the guys who do it have their hands tied by the program and not wanting to burn bridges. So I get it, but I also get it on their end too.
-
ironman1315Participant
Then don’t say anything until you can. It’s not hard to keep your mouth shut.
-
TednabParticipant
So dumb.. we lost Tanuvasa regardless and two other good players to tds .. so what’s the point .. a participation trophy

Virginia UteParticipant
Seems really stupid to taunt BYU about not getting Tanuvasa when…we lost him.
What a win for Utah!! He didn’t choose BYU. Some of our fans think it’s a race to go back to the way things were in the 90s.

Ryan hurts a little. But I think that’s more of the offense change. Not that focused on the TE and more on the receivers and Clegg wouldn’t have helped us at all this year anyways kid will take at least a year post mission. Who knows. Maybe by then he will transfer back.

AnferneeParticipant
Ryan was behind Bentley on the depth chart.
-
YergensenParticipant
Anyone watching Ryan and Bentley this season saw a clear talent difference. We lost the better talent.

While I would have loved for Clegg to stay at Utah, I think that Utah actually improved with Lance Holtzclaw. I know his 247 rating isn’t as high as Clegg’s, but Holtzclaw is game ready right now. Clegg, not so much as he has to fight off two years of mission rust and that could take half the season or more.
And with NIL and the transfer portal, it’s best to think about the upcoming season only. Meaning, Clegg with his higher rating could possibly be the longer term better player (who knows really?), but for next season, I would take Holtzclaw to be better since he already has proven himself. Win for Utah.
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
One thing I think is interesting about Clegg is his mission wasn’t a full two years, he was only gone 18 months. Don’t know if it will make a big difference in terms of working off the mission body but a 6 month head start in conditioning will super valuable to him.
-
BDParticipant
Interesting. I didn’t know that.
But I will still take a Washington DE tranfer who we KNOW is ready now vs. a player who might not be ready for Utah game one. Again, it is next season only to think about.

YergensenParticipant
Based on HS tape on the two, which is all we have to go on with Clegg, it’s not close.
Clegg was a game wrecker. Explosive, physical, beast. Spin it however you want, he’s a big loss. Very disappointing.
-
-
UtahParticipant
Ryan is not a loss at all.
He’s big and strong and sexy as hell, but if he’s our best TE…then we don’t have TE’s.
He’s not a Kuithe or Kincaid. Hell, he’s not a Murphy.

Spencer Fano begging Tanuvasa to come back?
-
BDParticipant
And Logan. Interesting.
-
UtahParticipant
It’s f**king hilarious. They think they are being so sneaky, sly, smart, whatever by enticing recruits to leave Utah with cash, only to find out those kids would rather go play elsewhere for less money.
F**k BYU. Honestly. Pure evil.
