Sounds like he’s gonna get fired. Curious to know what others think especially considering we’re trending to go the opposite way in the same (or at least similar) situation with Whitt.

I mean…OSU isn’t wrong. College coaches are so overpaid. Why pay someone like Whitt or Gunny, who have never won it all and can’t win a big bowl game, all that money?

Cut their contracts to 3-4 million and take the other half and give it to the players.

I like what Oklahoma State is doing. Utah should do it as well.

We could get Jay Hill for half of what we are paying Scalley and Whitt and we could put the rest of that money towards NIL.

Gundy won them the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago.

The reasons why I think it’d be more reasonable to fire Gundy versus Whitt: We had a really bad year, but they had a REALLY bad year. We were 5-7 and all our losses were arguably competitive/close. They were 3-9 and got blown out a bunch of times. Their players quit on the season. Ours didn’t. Their last two recruiting classes have been pretty concerning (relative to where they’re used to being). Ours have been pretty similar to where we’ve been for the past 5-7 years (which is good / really solid).

It sounds like they just want to restructure his contract so they’re not paying him as much money.
