Maybe Texas will do a number on Michigan Saturday and the Utes can move up a spot in the rankings.
For those that didn’t notice UCLA won at Hawaii last week in a close game. Both teams racked up countless penalties, the QB’s for both teams also looked horrible. Even recognizing that I wear UU colored glasses Rising is in a different universe than either of those QB’s. The TV announcers mentioned that prior to the start of the season Hawaii QB Brayden Schager was very close to accepting a $600,000 NIL deal to transfer to Kansas State, which seems almost unimaginable to me.
It’s still seems pretty strange, almost humorous that Stanford is in the ACC. That seems like it will be the most short lived arrangement of the entire conference re-alignment mess.
I really don’t care for the RES entrance “music” for the football team, an incessant monotone pounding, it’s not very inspiring. If they insist on a drum like sound then incorporate a 5-6 note percussion melody. Alan Parsons Project – Sirius is still used for the entrance by some teams, or use AC DC’s Thunderstruck, or the main part of Sandstorm, or the introduction to Led Zeppelin’s When the Levee Breaks. Heck, I’d rather hear Utah Man as first players start appearing at the tunnel exit.
I hope Nebraska sends Colorado back to the stone age on Saturday.
The University of Miami “U” thing gets under my skin. I really wanted the Gators to throttle them Saturday. The Hurricane QB, Washington State transfer Cameron Ward, looked all world.
It’s good to see that the Rose Bowl still takes place on January 1st with a 2:00 p.m. (Pacific) start time, in order to take advantage of the beauty of the afternoon environment, as it then rolls into dusk/sunset, and evening. Does anybody’s crystal ball show another appearance by the Utes, also accompanied by clear skies.
Speaking of unoriginal mascots it’s funny that the Big 12 has two Cougars and two Wildcats. As a person who has lived in California, Utah, Colorado, and Idaho, in my books the state of West Virginia has plenty of hills, but no real mountains.
This is my favorite football uniform option (see link below), and since the Swoop/Red Tail Hawk is part of University of Utah branding use this Free Bird for the stadium entrance.

If Utah were to make the playoffs as a top 4 seed, I doubt we would get the rose bowl. Most likely would be the fiesta bowl for the big 12 champ.

The Rose is definitely going to the B1G

Would imagine due to about a century of tradition, the Rose Bowl parade and game will remain on Jan 1, no matter what teams / conferences are involved.

The Rose has requested that it not be in the CFP semi-final or final rotation so that it stays on Jan 1.
