I switched from the Boise State game to the ASU game.  I think there were more calls made in the first drive I saw in the ASU game as I saw called in the entire BSU game. It seemed like there were things that could have been called in the BSU game but the let them play.

Not saying the conference refs will cost Utah a game directly. But I kind of think they will. I always felt like the target calls cost us the Wazzu 2018 game. I still feel like the 2016 Washington game there were a few blocks in the back…just a few..or five.

There is the more rational part of me that wants to believe that it doesn’t cost teams games. Yet that Fotu target was horses**t that overturned an insane Barton pick. A huge momentum shift during the game . That resulted in Fotu being gone for Wazzu first half.  Emotion beats out reason usually when it comes to sports.

The drive I saw where the flags were flying, started with ASU having a blind side block call bringing back a touchdown. Then there was a facemask call on Sac State and another blind side block called on ASU. The commentarors were talking about the blindside blocks. I worry that these could be problematic like the targeting calls. I think there problem with inconsistency and the use of the phrase forcible contact will make it difficult to know how to avoid the calls.

Seems like they are pretty loose on the interpretation of that blind side block.
