ParticipantFun night. Their team was AWFUL. lol. No one could do anything. My kid had never really held a basketball before. lol. Their coaches are amazing.
It’s been fun to watch the kids this year. They lose by a ton. Lose again. Lose by less. Lose by 2. Tonight, they took the game to OT before winning.
So cool to preach practice, practice, practice, hard work, hard work, practice…and see it actually pay of for him and his teammates.
What a fun night for the kids and their coaches. They’ve all worked so hard.

ParticipantThe ball DID go in the hoop.

ParticipantIt did tonight. They were so terrible at first. I think their first couple games they only got 1 or 2 total shots off.
Last game, they finally broke through and got a lot of shots off, but missed almost all of them.
Tonight, the ball DID go in the hoop. It was fun.

ParticipantCongrats. My 10 year old team is 0-9. One game losing by one, and our last game we were within a point in the third before the other team pulled away. Most of our games are 20-30 point losses. I have seen improvement, and they work hard. Its just been a rough year and their effort hasn’t translated on the scoreboard. I feel your pain, but thats really cool you guys were able to pull one out.

ParticipantCongrats. Our 3rd grade season just finished (Indiana), not to brag but our team won the end of season tournament after a bit of a rocky start. I volunteered to assistant coach to get my son to agree to playing. It was great to see him actually start enjoying sports and begin to devolp as the season went on. One observation I had is the teams that had the obviously talented players started strong but finished the season weak. Their whole plan usually came down to having that one or two kids drive to the hoop and they never developed thier other players or ran any sort of plays. We focused running a few very simple plays that got most of the kids open shots and it paid of at the end of the season.
Side note, bball here is intense. We had a fan (grandpa of opposing player) punch the ref after the game, and my son and I got flipped off in the parking lot as we were leaving.
