I have us going 10-2 in the regular season and playing the ducks again for the league championship. Losses against Florida and Oregon. I believe we win the rematch with Oregon and go to the rose bowl and beat Wisconsin.
My heart says we go unbeaten and fly through the postseason winning our first National Title

One week at a time. I guarantee Utah doesn’t lose to Florida. At least that is what my head says. 😂

Hope you’re right. The swamp will be crazy at night for a top 10 team, humidity, excitement for a better coach, their qb is pretty damn good when he is on and I expect him to be, young linebackers for us, and I think their lines may be on par with ours at least.
I hope I’m wrong

Napier the Gators head coach was the OC of ASU in 2017. Utah lost 30-10.
Which from what I remember Utah’s offense was the biggest issue in this game. Specifically the Oline. Huntley spent most of the day running for his life until he was injured. Utah’s defense was dealt a lot of bad field positions.
The game was really 30-3 at the 7 minute mark of the fourth. So it was a bad day in Tempe.
Now even in my mind I still guarantee a win.

Did not know that about Napier, that was such an awful day during a weird year for the Utes

EagleMountainUteParticipant
Actually the game was played in Salt Lake. 2017 ASU offense was kind of all over though for the season. Mainly because Todd Graham is a douche.

Huntley came back too soon and threw 4 picks that game. I understand going back to your starter after two tough losses with Williams but I just have never thought Huntley was 100% those first two games back.
Man that was a horrible stretch losing 6 of 7 games. Thanks for opening that wound 🙂

10 and 2, I think, is a good starting point for the season then we can push past expectations. I view the Oregon and USC games as even odds. The UCLA and Florida games have a good possibility that they are better than expected and can clime up to even odds. We need to see who these teams are. The good news is that no one on the schedule is currently viewed as better and Utah could be favored in all 12 games. I don’t think there is a WTF loss outside these 4 teams. If I remember right, OSU ran a lot on us in the second half after Lloyd left the game. This year we do not have Lloyd but we need to have a run defense that matches last year. If we have that we should exceed expectations.

We’re fans, we don’t have to go one week at a time. Go Utes! Win the Natty!

Here’s my WAG:
Block 1 (all wins): SUU, San Diego St, Oregon St, Arizona, Stanford & @Colorado
Block 2 (2 out of 3 wins): @Arizona St, UCLA & @Wazzou
Block 3 (1 out of 3 wins): @ Florida, USC & @Oregon
Final record: 9-3. Maybe revenge our regular season loss to Oregon in the championship rematch.
Rose Bowl: Michigan… this time we win.

Reasonable. But to make a Rose Bowl possible, one of those losses will likely need to be to Florida. If we have 3 conference losses and have lost to USC and Oregon (head to head) we won’t be in the P12 Championship game to avenge (IMHO).

I’m also at 9-3 and have been since the Rose Bowl. I will be very happy to be proven a pessimist but there are some really big shoes that have to be filled from last year’s team.
I’m guessing a close loss to Florida and one of Oregon/USC. The third will be a game like Oregon State last year where Utah gets up early and then things start going wrong for no apparent reason. Not sure the opponent

I think you may be right at 10-2. However, I think we will lose to USC or Oregon and lose to a team we should beat, i.e. UCLA, OSU, WSU, etc.
I hope for a win at FL because I want to start the season on the right foot. We have the advantage of an experienced team, and continuity in coaching. Early games for a new staff typically are challenging. Of course, playing in the Swamp has its challenges.

My concerns in no particular order: O line, slow starts, kicking game, ball security, getting some pressure to the QB and staying healthy.. lol pretty much the basics .. injuries cost us the Rose bowl IMO.. complete that and playing with that fire we had in the second half of the season; we’re going to the playoffs… last years team was fun to watch after they figured it out; team had swag . They’re hungry for it and I am expecting that to carry into this season.
