WSU can score points. It will be the first real test of our secondary. WSU as usual doesn’t run much. This transfer QB seems very accurate and most importantly his line gave him a lot of time. I know this isn’t the USC of old, but they had a hard time pressuring the QB.
WSU’s defense has some holes. They have a small Dline. USC kept throwing deep. If they didn’t complete the pass – the refs often called PI. USC exploited their DBs. But, I am not sure we have the abaility with our QBs or wide receivers to successfully go deep. USC has some amazing athletes in their receiving core and the young QB has an arm that can throw deep.
When we play WSU we will need to establish the run. However, WSC will stack the box, so we will need to mix it up with the pass or we will not be able to run. In spite of our poor offensive showing, I think we will be able to score against WSU. But, WSU will also be able to score. This may be the best passing offense we face all season long (Oregon may be better). I think we will need to get some pressure on the QB, but that won’t come with just a 4 man rush. This Oline knows how to protect their QB and do it well.
We need an offensive game plan which will score 28+ points and can keep WSU’s offense off the field as much as possible. This will NOT be an easy game. WSU is better than most expected IMO. The transfer QB has been an unexpected blessing. They are not great, but they can score and I highly doubt we can hold them to less than 24 points.

No way the Utah “offense” can score 28 points at WSU. Utah offense AND defense scoring 28 points is possible.
i don’t think it’s rational to expect more than 14 points per game from this kwhitt offense. The defense will need to make up the difference to have a chance.

Remember, Leki Fotu is out the first half because of that bulls*it targeting call last week. That’s a huge loss against a really good O-line.
It’s ironic because the refs missed an OBVIOUS targeting call against WSU last night that would have disqualified one of their best defenders for the first half of the Utah game. JT Daniels had given himself up, the defender hit him late, ducked his helmet and hit him square in the side of the head. It even went to review and they said it wasn’t targeting. It was truly the definition of targeting.
I don’t see our D-line getting enough pressure next week, even with Fotu. They’ll pick us apart just like they did USC and our offense sure as hell won’t be able to keep up.
21-7 at halftime. 45-20 final.

I hope you are wrong. I think our D may be better than the Trojans. But, there is no doubt that our offense is one of the worst in the conference right now (possibly the worst). The pressure will need to come from Hansen, Barton, Guidry and possibly a few safety blitzes. I hope that our Dbacks can come up with some interceptions that turn the game around.
