Utah is loaded at DE and after the transfer of Morris and TE recruiting not going the way they had planned this move was necessary.

He will assume the hybrid blocking TE/FB role that Logan Kendall played so well last season

Lots of good people leaving. This is the first I’ve heard of Ricky Parks. Too bad he couldn’t Crack the rotation but that RB room is DEEP

Parks entered the portal on Jan 5 and I believe he is still there. Didn’t get much print with all of the Rising speculation

With the portal being what it now is, many athletes will have limited interest in being left off the 2 Deep chart for 2 years. The better teams will see players leave the bench for more opportunity on lessor teams. Lessor teams will see starters leave for an opportunity to see what they can do in higher play. That will suggest all teams lose players. In the past we have not been losing starters to better teams. Mataele started games earlier but may have been looking at upcoming competition as he looked to regain his starting spot. Maile was a starter but may have been looking at upcoming competition to solve poor shotgun snaps. I am not sure there are transfers that we are on the negative side with given where the team is. Of more interest is what will be happening in the CB room.

I am going to miss watching Kendall make block in the backfield.
