Hmm, good thing BYU “brought” us into the MWC. Just likey they left the MWC before Utah and TCU.
In spring 1998, BYU and Utah proposed a permanent split into two eight-team divisions. The proposal would have forced some schools into an unnatural alignment because of the geographic distribution of the conference.[2]Air Force was the most strident opponent of this proposal, threatening to become an independent.[2]Soon after the proposal by BYU and Utah, the presidents of Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, Utah, and Wyoming met atDenver International Airportto discuss their future, and they agreed to break away from the WAC to form a new conference.[2]They invited the WAC members New Mexico, San Diego State, and UNLV to join them in what became the Mountain West Conference.
Do these guys not remember how they tried to screw the MWC by keeping USU out and joing the WAC?
Revisionist history is all they’ve got.

Their whole lives are based on revisionist history, half truths, and willful ignorance of facts.

Yeah Coach Whitt, Covey, Hansen, and the rest of the team are real idiots.

What did I say that’s not true?

Cam we please not bring religion into this. Hate Mormonism all you want, but please leave it off the board.

Damn there are some deeply delusional sour pusses on that board. The comments about how Utah somehow “knifed” them in the back with the move to the Pac-12 is hilarious. BYU would never ever get an invite to the Pac-12 based on LDS religious history, even as it stands currently they wouldn’t. I have serious doubts they’ll ever get a P-5 invite because of this and nobody down there has the self-awareness to realize it.

Some Ute fans think that if the zoobs won more they would get invited to the PAC12.
This if false.
The cannot and will not ever be invited because of the mormon belief/history. PERIOD. Nothing will change this. EVER,
Now, what they need to do is except this simple truth, stop blaming others ir playing the victim and move one.
-
UtahParticipant
Even that’s not fully true. The PAC-10/12 has always said BYU as an academic institution isn’t good enough for the PAC.

Which all ties into the mormon beliefs/history. Lack of free thinking and open debate

Except what?

The Seattle Riots in the early 70s stemmed in part from a student protest intending to stop UW from playing byu-P in sports. Many of our conference mates, along with SJSU refused to play them. UA and ASU left the WAC to get away from being forced to them. I
The fact that they were able to greatly outspent (double or more) the rest of the conference in the 70s and 80s, along with catching lightning in a bottle in the form of Lavell Edwards and assistants like Roger French, Andy Reid, Norm Chow, etc, is the only reason they ever became relevant in the first place.
