I live in AZ, and watched Nico Mannion a bit in the state playoffs (his team won the high school championship, largely due to his amazeballs skills).  The kid is a mad baller.

Does anyone have any insight?  We all know his dad played for the Utes, and he’s considering Utah along with AZ & UCLA.  Bobby Hurley was at the high school championship game hoping to woo Nico to ASU.  I think Duke & KY have expressed interest too.

Anyway, he has skills and he would be a HUGE get for the Utes.  I’m not sure Larry K has ever received a commitment from a player as highly ranked & rated as Nico?  And while I admit I rarely put too much stock in rankings & ratings, I’m always amazed by what Coach K can do with players that come in almost always under the radar.  I’d love to see what he could do with a Nico Mannion kinda guy.

How much $$ have AU and UCLA offered him?  Did his visit to Kentucky have a happy ending?

Come on…it’s not just about money. It’s about the total compensation package they’re offering – salary, benefits, PTO, 401(k), etc. Not sure we can match all that.

Would be amazing to land that kind of talent. It’s the way the Utes get over the hump and take down a conference title and make some noise in the Big Dance again.

Do you remember that one highly-touted High School QB prospect from Sammamish, Washington??  I think that happened to him.
