    A few years ago they were a team you didn’t want to mess with… this year, not so much

      They made the Orange Bowl back about 5 or so years ago (as the best non-Major team) and got beaten fairly convincingly by Florida State. Of course it isn’t that hard to run the table out of the MAC.
      
      Last year their offense was really no threat to us, but their defense gave us some struggles. But should be a fairly comfortable win for us.

        I think last years struggle was due to:
        
        – their defense, Sutton in particular
        
        – it being a road game
        
        – I think that was one of the games that TT kept trying to pass all the time instead of feeding Moss.
        
        So I’m hoping that with Sutton being gone, it being a home game, and Ludwig not being afraid to let the RB’s carry the offense – we’ll see a game similar to BYU.

    No one should sleep on Illinois State. They may be a .500 team, but in the last few years they have beaten Northwestern and Colorado St. If NIU wasn’t lucky to pull off this win, they may be a solid team and one not to sleep on.

  This is no creampuff opponent. Sutton isn’t there but this will be closer than most of you think. Especially with the starting center and guard out.
