KeymasterArticle in trib says there will be no mask mandates or vaccination requirements for Rice Eccles Stadium.
-
dystopiamembrane
BlockedIn Oregon, we are mandated to wear masks outside.

BlockedI have begun to think that covid could be real. I might get vaccinated soon.
-

BlockedThe guv’ment here is paying us to get vaccinated. I am waiting for the payout to rise before I take the plunge.

BlockedApparently, this variant from Mississippi is pretty bad. Somethin’ to do with the c**kroaches?

ParticipantNo state leadership knows how to virtue signal quite like Oregon’s
-

BlockedAre you forgetting about the state run by the LDS church? A different set of virtues, I suppose.

ParticipantUtah’s government officials make their decisions based on thinking they’re helping people get to heaven. Oregon’s government officials make their decisions based on how they can make it look like they care more about certain issues than others do. Like when they were the only state in the nation requiring HS track athletes to wear masks when they ran.
Can’t say I’m a fan of either style tbh.

Yes, they truly care about our souls.“Oregon’s government officials make their decisions based on how they can make it look like they care more about certain issues than others do.”
Yes, it’s just a show they put on.-

ParticipantThat is why you pay 9% state income tax. At least CA has beaches to enjoy.

ParticipantInteresting perspective. What has the LDS church said about masks and vaccines?

ParticipantI’d still put Utah’s State Religiouslature easily ahead of Oregon for umpteen reasons separate from Covid. Free agency and how to enforce it!

BlockedI definitely agree with you. I probably take it much further than you would, though. 😉

ParticipantThe fact that you live in Oregon is not even a little surprising.

ParticipantI watched Sebastian Maniscalco is Santa Barbara last night. No masks since it was in an outdoor amphitheater and no vaccine card check. For right now in California it’s back to normal. Not sure if that will remain for when the Utes play USC and Stanford.

ParticipantI don’t want to get political on a Football thread but I think it fits. My guess would be if Gavin wins the recall, we’ll (I work in Los Angeles which already has mandates) see restrictions similar to last year. If Larry Elder gets the nod, I think he’s committed to avoiding mandates.

ParticipantYep. The recall is the only reason we don’t currently have mandates.

ParticipantWill be interesting to see what percentage of the crowd is masked on Thursday. I will choose to wear one.
A reminder for those taking TRAX is that I perceive masks are still mandatory on UTA (at least the buses I pass from time to time driving around have had “masks required” signs in recent days).

ModeratorThanks for the heads up on that. I didn’t even think about Trax mandating masks.

ParticipantNo mandate but strongly encouraged. From my tickets email:
“It’s game week for Utah Football! We look forward to seeing you back in Rice-Eccles stadium. New for the 2021 season, all tickets and parking passes will be digital. You’ll be able to manage your tickets on your mobile device.
To protect yourself and those around you, masks are strongly encouraged at Rice-Eccles Stadium for the game on Thursday.”
