Seeing that their OC/WR coach Jordan Davis is one that we are looking at and also seeing that former North Texas commit Jamarian “Byrd” Ficklin flipped to us, I decide to look at some stuff about their offense. This was from October 24th:
“The Mean Green (5-2, 2-1 AAC) offense ranks among the best in the country. It ranks third in the Football Bowl Subdivision for total offense, averaging 528 yards per game. The team also excels in passing offense, averaging 360.6 yards per game, and is ninth in scoring offense, with 41.3 points per game.
Junior quarterback Chandler Morris has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. He is second in the FBS in both passing yards with 2,424 and touchdowns with 23. Morris accounted for 520 yards of total offense in the loss to Memphis. He has thrown for over 300 yards this season in six of his seven games.
Junior wide receiver DT Sheffield is among the top players in the FBS, currently tied for second in receiving touchdowns with nine. His 565 receiving yards leads the AAC and he is also ranked No. 15 in the nation in all-purpose yards, averaging 130.7 per game.”
They are the #6 passing offense in the country.
