I’m personally not surprised at the FB team’s struggles this year, as first, the offense was built on the assumption of a pre-injury CR skill set, which didn’t get to be fully implemented for obvious reasons, and second that the transition to a new conference with different travel, unfamiliar match-ups, etc., is always a challenge. That said, I’m excited to see what the new combo of Bajakian-IW can do, and hope for better days!

If the games we were losing were a bunch of unfamiliar matchups, I would agree. We are 1-1 in our games against “new” opponents. We have lost 2 games to former pac teams. This has nothing to do with unfamiliar matchups.

No doubt one of the biggest issues, in hindsight, is that this season’s hopes were riding on a historically injury prone player to avoid an injury. Unfortunately, that was a statistical improbability.

Our defesne is damn good.

Once again, this is 100% Whitt’s inability to allow his OC to have more than one QB prepared to play. We aren’t losing to good teams. We are losing to mediocre to BAD teams.

How you can’t have more than one QB ready to play, when you have a former 5 star kid, a 4 star kid from Corner Canyon (other Corner Canyon QB’s were the #2 pick in the NFL draft, Ohio State’s starting QB, Ole Miss’s starting QB, etc) and Rose, who has been in the program for years.

Not having a backup that can put up 24 vs Arizona and TCU with that talent is pathetic.

The lack of transparency is frustrating. It’s easy to sell something when you keep it hidden in a box, but once you reveal what’s inside, it becomes much harder to convince people to buy in. By restricting media and fans from seeing the reality of the team’s performance through practices or scrimmages, we’re left begging for crumbs from a paranoid leader unwilling to show who this team really is. The secrecy only deepens the disconnect, leaving fans and supporters in the dark and questioning what this team is really made of.

You are spot on! Whitt put all his eggs in one basket (Rising) and when that failed, he failed miserably as it manifested itself for all world to see and turned very ugly for him and the program! I wouldn’t have expected this from Whittingham having 20 years of head coach experience and how he handled it…VERY POORLY. Many didn’t like what I had to say about Whitt’s approach to coaching these past few years as I saw cracks in his armor and definitely his poor handing of the QB situation last year and especially this year. Time will tell if this interim OC will improve things or not with the remaining games on the schedule.

I was pretty upset when spring scrimmages were closed to the public.

But not allowing hardly any access to the media – especially in fall camp – is much worse since the only reports from fall camp are nothing but superficially positive reports with no substance. Those who could give a realistic report with substance (thus tempering expectations) cannot do so.

Anytime any leader starts to pull transparency, you know things are bad.

Good leaders don’t hide anything because they have nothing to hide. Anytime anyone closes the books, the accounts, practices, meetings, etc, you know they are going sour.

Anyone who saw us adding the players we added, Wilson, Singer, the basketball kid, etc and thought we would struggle/lose to ASU, Arizona, TCU was full of s**t.

We should be undefeated. There is no excuse for this year, other than bad coaching. The talent is there. The schedule is easy. There is not excuse for 3 losses.
