Was it just me, or was our offensive play calling really disjointed tonight? There didn’t seem to be a real plan to setup anything. Of course, the players make the plays, but it was really off. For the first time in a while I think BYU out coached us. That is beside the fact not lines got outplayed.
Also, Brewer didn’t looked very composed, which was surprising.
No deep shots or intermediate routes. We basically BEGGED them to load the box and made it easy for them while still running. We didn’t spread them out to open them up. Very little play action etc. POOR play calling, game plan and execution.
They fooled us with their historical drop 8 and then, instead, they loaded the box tonight and brought pressure. Clearly Utah spent all prep time in the Jumbo formation to game them for their dropping 8 and then it backfired when they loaded the box. So yeah, Ludwig definitely go out foxed.
