So far this morning, 3 teams have won while throwing for under 100 yards. Georgia Tech, Boston College and Navy (obviously). The first two teams were upsets.

I guess the point I’m trying to make is that by game 9 or 10 of the season, teams should know what they do well and lean on it. And I don’t have a clue what Utah does well on offense. I’m even less convinced that they either do know or will be willing to ride it to the point where it doesn’t matter if the defense knows what’s coming, they won’t be able to stop it.

We can’t pass effectively enough to take the heat off of our running game and our running game isn’t strong enough to be successful without a legitimate passing threat to keep the defense honest.

Unless Bajakian can make chicken soup out of our chicken s**t scheme, and/or Rose turns out to be all-world, we won’t win another game this year.

I’m talking about commitment. We’ve only seen one game of Bajakian but so far I haven’t seen different from Ludwig where he would try something, it wouldn’t work, and then he’d immediately shift gears and do the opposite. And then chase that flip-flop all game hoping to find lightning in a bottle.

If you want to run the ball, run the damn ball. Run it 17 straight times if that’s what it takes. Having 8 in the box doesn’t stop you from running the ball. In the 80’s, defenses played with 9 or 10 in the box. Don’t be scared of the defense and let them dictate your game plan.

Hopefully we will take what the defense gives us and not try and force something that’s not there. Take a few deep shots. We’ve had four games to figure out the blitzes and haven’t taken advantage yet.
