One major change was the switch from primarily zone defense to man-to-man. We certainly were more energetic on defense and disruptive. Steals and clean rebounds led to a bunch of easy baskets.
Part of the effectiveness is that Cal is a poor offensive team. But it’s also easier for many players to focus when they have a man they are supposed to guard, box out, yell out when he screens, etc. The team looked more focused.
Let’s hope our defense is even better against Stanford.
