While I think we all came away impressed with Huntley’s performance, it’s important to remember that this was his first full game playing against FCS competition, as well as his first road game. And it was a rivalry game, for whatever that’s worth anymore. Given those factors, I’d say his game against the Zoobs was even better than we’re giving him credit for. That’s a ton of pressure, and he absolutely stepped up and balled out.
The sky is the limit for this kid, and the red kool-aid is telling me that we could be in for something really special this year if we can clean a few things up.

I have no beef with Huntley’s game; he did a great job. I am not even really bothered by the team’s effort, but there are certainly thinks that need to be cleaned up (all of which Whit acknowledged): (1) penalties, (2) running game (other than Huntley), and (3) red-zone offense. I am not terribly high on Moss (there is a joke in there somewhere), he is fine, but I guess we have been spoiled with Booker and Williams. Moss doesn’t have the breakaway speed and doesn’t seem to run violently. I thought Shyne had huge upside; it’s a shame he was injured.

I am high on Moss, and yes there must be a joke in there somewhere.
Yes, he doesn’t have the speed that Joe did, but as much as I loved Joe, he was not great at ball security even post retirement.
If you go back and look at the 2016 holy war, Moss had 4.6 ypc. I don’t know if it was better run blocking then, or they were using him poorly this time, but I still think he has a lot of upside. They need to work on whatever it is though because Huntley won’t last if he’s overused.

I have no idea what to classify BYU as these days. 🙂

After rewatching the game a couple of things poped out.
First quarter we played like sh!t.
Once we got rolling we really started rolling. Big passes were made we moved the ball.
We had some penalties called that killed our momentum and robbed us of a couple of TDs.
This game was never really close. Even though the score was within a TD(like always), we absolutely owned that game.
I have never been more excited for a season than I am for this one. Even if we get worked by top ten teams we will be in great shape next year.
One concern: If Huntley doesn’t make better choices when he runs we are going to see a lot more of Troy W. That’s not necessarliy a bad thing but I don’t think he will do as well in Troys offensive schemes.

Huntley is good. He needs some help in the running game and to stay healthy. If those two things happen Utah has a chance to be a very good team.

I am drinking all the Huntley koolaid. He almost seemed to thrive under pressure. Wow. I didn’t see it coming.

I down voted you just because no one else had yet! Just giving you a hard time. 😉 BTW I agree with everything you said.

The auto down votes for ladyinred should be over with.
