Weakest ass holds ever.
Whitt needs to announce his retirement. Shah can follow him.
-
UtahParticipant
Yup. F**k Whittingham. He got his. He got paid. Time to leave.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
@Utah who was running that clock as well? There ain’t no point to home field if you can’t get homecooking.
-

MontanaUteParticipant
I’m over Whittingham. I don’t care that he is the winningest coach in Utah football. He needs to go. He has lost how to coach and run a team. Not a single point in the second half.
-
CrowParticipant
Such a bad call
-
The Miami UteParticipant
I’m at the game and I still can’t figure out where the holding call took place. I mean, I’m just a few rows from where the play took place and I saw nothing. Did they show it on TV?
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
both were handfighting. it’s a hold on vaughn if you’ve been calling it all game. it’s not if you’ve been letting it go. SEC would have protected their undefeated with that call
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
It is within five yards. It is legal.

ESPN is a byu propaganda arm- they showed it, but they didn’t explain that the minimal contact that may have happened occurred when the qb was wrapped up . That ref deserves a whit a$$ whooping-
-
Ted LassoParticipant
Not trying to be a dick, but you guys also got a phantom facemask in the first half that led to a touchdown. But I 100% agree that the holding was a bad call.
-
cj13Participant
Exactly its not a single play that determines a game. Truthfully, Utah should not have been in a position where a bad holding call would change the outcome of the game. We had every opportunity to put it away.
Also the luck factor is STRONG with BYU. Saw they were number 1 in the country when it came to luck factor. Of course two Retzlaff fumbles bounce your way. That is part of the game and just wish it favored us more tonight. It hurts a little less because we are so bad this year but it would have been nice to spoil BYU’s night haha
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
I’m sorry but that was either a facemask or Brandon Rose is really good at keeping his head right next to the defenders hand. My bet is the former
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
when the QB’s head turns like that, it’s gonna get called every time.
-
UtopiaParticipant
You can’t overlook how Rose’s head jerked in a manner completely consistent with a facemask grab/pull. I think what logically happened was that it started with a facemask grab/pull, but the hand then slid down and ended up on the jersey, which is the part that could be seen in the replay. There wasn’t a full view of where the hand started and progressed through the entire play.
-
UtahParticipant
You don’t know this and you don’t know this because this is reason #1739 that the Big 12 sucks.
Was there a facemask? Did BYU’s player get Rose’s facemask at the beginning of the tackle? We don’t know because the Big 12 only has two cameras at every game.
Did #12 score on the QB sneak? We don’t know because the Big 12 doesn’t even have a goalline camera.
Do we have a clear view of the hold at the end of the game? Nope.
Do we have a view of Kalani calling TO after the play was snapped? Nope.
The Big 12 is an absolute garbage conference with absolute garbage leadership.
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
you couldn’t see that hold clearly from the camera angle they showed from the top of the opposite side of the stadium? I’m shocked!
That broadcast was P12Network level bad. Surely that would get 12 different replays from 7 different angles in an SEC game. I mean, it’s not like it was a turning point in the game or anything.
