  Sophmore Auburn Safety Chris Thompson entered the transfer portal yesterday. 4* prospect out of Texas who played high school ball with Ja’Quinden Jackson. Could be an excellent addition to our defense with Ritchie on a mission and Hubert being injured.

  Yes please!! He reminds me of Marquise Blair with how fast and hard he hits dudes. Would be a great addition to our defense.

    tru. If only we had an exceptional record getting safeties into the NFL or he had a personal connection with the team. (in seriousness you are right in that any high value transfer is always a tough get)

      Utah Safeties drafted since 2015:
      
      2015 – Eric Rowe
      
      2017 – Marcus Williams
      
      2019 – Marquise Blair
      
      2020 – Terrell Burgess, Julian Blackmon
      
      Is 5 Safeties in 5 years not exceptional enough for you?? It’s not like we’re Alabama with a completely new roster every season because we get 22 guys drafted every year.
      
      Also, Vonte Davis is getting drafted after this season if he plays like he did in 2020. RJ Hubert is an NFL guy too, and if it weren’t for his injury he probably gets drafted as well. And don’t even get me started on the young guys like Nate Ritchie/Kamo’i Latu/Zemaiah Vaughn/Cole Bishop/Bleu Stewart… They all have the potential to be NFL players in the future, and with Utah’s track record, I would bet on the majority of them getting drafted in a few years.
