Apparently Utah is projected to win the big 12 and have a cfb bid in 2025 according to sports illustrated. Thoughts?

I’ll be happy to get back to a bowl next year but I’d be thrilled if Whitt can ride off into the sunset after reaching another program milestone.

Did they accidentally copy/paste last year’s prediction?

All the things I’ve seen are just riding the Az st and tspp train. Nobody has any idea who will win the big 12 because it’s so wide open so all the predictions are just “who was the best last year”

Yeah man. Please log out of the app, update it if it isn’t up to date, then log back in! That should fix it for next time.

ESPN projected the Utes win the BIG 12….It’s a paywall article so here is what they say:

The winner: Utah. Despite collapsing offensively, the Utes still boasted a top-20 defense (per SP+) and lost five games by a total of 23 points. They’ll have a chance to charge right back up the standings. All they need is to find a QB1 — probably New Mexico transfer Devon Dampier — and keep him on the field.

I mean, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility, but if I had to choose Utah or the field, I’m choosing the field. ASU, Colorado, BYU, Baylor, KSU, and Texas Tech should all be in the top half of the big 12, and we play all of them. Assuming we beat all the other 6 teams we play, and split the 6 teams above, that puts us at 9-3 and 6-3 in Conference play, which is unlikely to get us in the CCG. Our team could be good enough to get to the CCG, but the difficulty of the schedule could make us not get there. Who knows though. Schedule projections could be way off. We thought Ok state was supposed to be really good and look at what happened.

Let’s see how ASU and the TDS fare this year with the target on their backs. I’d much rather be the underdog and fly under the radar. All the hype last year coupled with our first year in the BIG 12 made us look like pre madonnas. The hate for BYU and ASU will quickly escalate through the conference. I’m sure those games have been circled on the coaches and players calendars.
