“I think this offense has been perfect for me,” Nacua said. “I didn’t get to explode as much as I ever wanted to throughout my years at Utah. It’s a different kind of offense up there, obviously, and I was able to make it work. But I don’t think I was ever able to expose how talented I truly am. I think being down here will help me show more what I can do than what I’ve done.”
He’s been taking veiled shots at Utah all offseason. He had some good moments here, but my last recollection of him is of a Washington State DB ripping the ball away from him for a turnover.
Utah gave him a shot when nobody else would. Now he runs to BYU-P and says he’s coming for the streak. We’ll see about that.
It is true, the Y allows more freedom and less accountability in route running. Less necessity to block and support the run game. He will excel in the G5 and FCS games and would have had a hey day last year. Problems will surface when his QB faces a P5 rush and the P5 defenses will not also be contending with a good running attack.
Allegeier is a pretty good back. They lost half their line and their OC.so we’ll see what Roderick has for them.
Agree with others that this isn’t the quote set to demonize. I think the BYU press will want Smason and Puka to really talk up BYU by badmouthing where they were. Those quotes will probably come eventually.
Yeah, enjoyed Samson’s up beat, free spirit at Utah. Kid lives in the moment and likes to run harmless smack. Good for the Nacua brothers getting to play together for Samson’s final year playing football.
