ParticipantIf true that Rose suffered a season ending foot 🦶🏼 injury, during the last game, that helps explain why his play & all of the Utes offense struggled to move the ball in the second half.

SalUTEtheU
ParticipantMaybe that depends on when the injury occurred?

KeymasterAnd if so, like the ASU game and the Houston game, the coaches failed to “notice” that the QB was too injured to succeed.

ParticipantWho’s ready for some Luke Bottari? He’s the only one left after Wilson right?
-
enigami344
Participantpay some respect, that is Luke “100% win rate against Colorado” Bottari

ParticipantThree more games! Bottari time? Did anyone see Wilson on the sideline against the Y? I never saw him on TV. Is Huard officially out also? Can Bernard throw the ball? Just put him in a wildcat formation all game.

ParticipantIsaac was dressed and was out there throwing during breaks like the backups do.

ParticipantDoes anyone have Whitts number? I’d suit up for free.

Participantdo you know the playbook? have you gotten a good grasp of what we’re trying to do the last 2 weeks?

ParticipantIsaac was dressed and ready to go with his helmet on all game

Participantthe helmet on all game thing with him is strange. kept it on when he got pulled against Houston also. It’s almost like he’s wearing it as a shield to distance himself from his teammates because he sure doesn’t appear to be interacting with them like he was earlier in the season.

ParticipantHindsight being 20/20 you can say this I guess. Seems like an obvious question then. Why didn’t the coaches notice AGAIN? Rising was clearly crap and should have been pulled at half in his loss.

ParticipantI’m not buying it that the conservative play calling in the 2nd half was because of Rose’s injury. Remember in the 3rd qtr when we had ball on our side of the field and on 3rd & 10 a running play to Glover was called? The play prior to that was the long pass to Bernard that was just off his fingertips.
3rd and 10 and a run by Glover??? Of course he didn’t pick up much, I think just three yards, so Whitt decided on punting on 4th down.
If Rose was able to throw a pretty good long pass on 2nd down (the attempted pass to Bernard), he was able to throw again on 3rd down to try to get the first down or at least make it 4th and short yardage. But no, a run play was called to player who has not demonstrated much history on getting decent gains.
I know that has been said a million times here but this is just another example of Whitt playing not to lose rather than playing to win.

ParticipantI think Whit shut it down after Rose threw the intgerception and Kuithe got injured.

ParticipantEven Whitt said it wasn’t on Rose. The WR ran the wrong route.
With Kuithe out, we have zero pass catching threats from the TEs, and I think half the playbook is to throw to them.

ParticipantI wouldn’t say we have zero. Carsen Ryan has been good when thrown the ball and so has Lohner. Dallen Bentley has been open all year and hasn’t had a half decent ball thrown his way. King looked good last year so you know the talent is there somewhere if you can find it in him again. The main problem is none of these guys can have the offense run through them like kuithe could.

ParticipantIsn’t Lohner off the team and with the basketball team? I don’t recall seeing him at all against byU.
-
highlandute7
ParticipantWhitt said during his press conf this week and Lohner will get more reps.

ParticipantAll I want this week is for the offense to look like they’re having fun. Not that they are only trying not to lose. Whoever’s the quarterback just freaking let them loose. Let him throw the ball 40 times and if he gets six picks who cares. Whitt needs to embody the spirit of Mike Leach. Full on air raid offense.
