Brutal. Did the injury occur during the game? And if so, when?
-
HoosierUteParticipant
Wait is this real? What is going on with this program?

Thanks for posting this… it’s utterly mind-blowing that Utah only has two QBs that aren’t out for the season due to a season ending injury. What happened to Sam Huard?
-
highlandute7Participant
No one has ever said specifically what happened to Huard. Shocker.
I know some have mentioned and questioned the training staff but has anyone ever thought if these injuries, as most seem to be lower leg injuries, if the UA products/shoes are inferior and could be part of the problem?
-
DataUteParticipant
I thought Huard had a season ending injury during practice a few weeks ago.

Glover gone too

Hurt or leaving before playing his 5th game?

Leaving

I’ll be honest, I’m going to miss his 2 yards per carry output. We would almost get first downs if he stayed.
-

Glover ran better the last two games, with a lot more purpose. It’s tough to tell though when you only get a couple of carries. I’m not saying he had earned more but short of thinking he should take it to the house every time he touched the ball, what level of improvement do you really expect in season?

Ghost, or anyone else who might know:
What’s up with the reported “team chemistry” issues with Wilson? Is he playable at this point, both due to this supposed issue and his health? I’m hoping these things have been blow out of proportion by the rumor mill, especially since he is one of our two remaining QBs for the year.

I don’t think they have a choice at this point. Unfortunately, things really can’t get worse from here, other than the footnote of starting 4-0 and losing out. I’d play him if it helps secure him coming back.
Allegedly Isaac has some attitude problems. I’m not sure if he could get buy in from people for the last few games. I’d imagine he would need to come back from the offseason with a new attitude and improvement to win people over, but who knows.

Team chemistry is such an overrated concept. Teams that win put aside their differences. Teams that aren’t winning remember their differences and hold them against each other.
You can’t buy team chemistry and it doesn’t matter how much you preach it. If it doesn’t result in wins it’s just platitudes. Teams that like each other and don’t care if they win or lose, that just want to have fun together, play co-ed softball.
Bear Bryant was a racist who deliberately kept black players off his team. Until he played SC and their black players were bigger, faster and stronger and kicked his white boys’ asses. After that he was still a racist but more than happy to have black players win games for him. And most of his players loved playing for him. Because he won games.

Deion said something similar – ‘at CU, they don’t need to be friends. What is chemistry? Everyone does their job and is held accountable.’ I think ‘chemistry’ can help – we saw improvement just seeing Rising back on the field after Brewer got pulled and the team just played harder for him.
-

Well, since it sounds like the team doesn’t seem to care much for Wilson, and he hasn’t exactly been leading them to victory, the situation seems to be spiraling into the center of the toilet. Who knows, though? Hopefully they can get it together. Maybe the defense will start scoring more.
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
If Wilson can come in and take pressure off the defense to win the game by themselves, it will go a long way towards clearing up any issues the team might have. They won’t like him any more but they would certainly hate him less, assuming the rumors and his body language are accurate.
He doesn’t need to be an all-star, just provide enough to start getting the benefit of the doubt again.

Grass at Rice Eccles? Would that lower our injury count? Someone give me some data- I think it would be nice to have real grass on that field.
-
China RiderParticipant
Grass would be nice but concerts, truck pulls and moto cross shake the money tree.

Ute DubParticipant
That’s it! Get rid of the interlocking U, bring back the D&F. End the curse of injuries.
