Had the two gone through their full playing eligibility, Saturday would have been their senior night, too. I already had a good feeling about this game. Even more so now. #22 Iowa State 5:30 on FOX. Go Utes!
Yep, just like TDS was bound to not get the lucky bounces eventually and lost last week, I’m thinking we win at least 1 of these next 2 games as at some point there should be some bounces that go our way.
I would be shocked if we win either game.
No running game and multiple INTs thrown by Wilson every week couple with we cannot score consistently unless our Defense does…which they haven’t all year. Other than luck what makes you think we can beat a ranked team at home or a bad team on the road? Just look at the TDS and Houston games if you need an example of what I am talking about.
We were right there with BYU. Two untimely injuries derailed our offense in the second half (not to mention 2 fumbles where BYU benefited from the perfect bounce). We could have won comfortably in that one.
We’ve all grieved their loss, and I hope we always honor them. The emotion in those first moments of loudness will always be remembered. I wonder what difference Ty would have made the past few seasons- he would have helped us win those Rose bowls? No doubt he was trending to be one of our all time greats. What could have Aaron became for our defense?
Their deaths helped me deprioritize football in terms of wins and losses, and helped me to care about the individuals on this team. They chose to come to our school and community. Those rose bowl years I felt that more than ever and I think we all did- maybe we are losing that feeling right now with the losses but they are kids for the most part doing their best and we all need to remember that- TJAL22!
Ty was very talented and I was so impressed when he was awarded the game ball in the locker room and he humbly stated his success that game was due to the fine play of his offensive line.
A young man of great character who must be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who enjoyed watching him play in his all too short a career.
