I hate to be that guy, but unfortunately what turned the first half on its head was two horrible officiating decisions back to back. First, the chop block call which was absolutely wrong (even the Stanford homer announcers said so), and then the no-call on Gay getting run into on the missed FG (it doesn’t matter if he “sold it” or not – you can’t run into a kicker). I’ll assume that the flag on Whit for arguing was a good call, and I hope he got his 15 yards’ worth.
Those decisions turned the momentum firmly to Stanford, and I can only hope Utah can get it back.
