Participanti know it’s only been two games but am I The Only one that thinks Shelley might be better than Huntley?
-
UteThunder
ParticipantDefinitely not, but I think we need to see Shelley against some better defenses to get a better idea. Oregon and Colorado aren’t exactly great defensively.

InactiveI’m not ready to throw Tyler under the bus just yet, but I’m loving what we’re seeing from Jason.

Dwight89
ParticipantYeah I agree. Need some more data points. But so far it’s been more impressive than Huntley’s first two starts

ParticipantThe thing I love about Shelly so far is his poise. Tyler would get happy feet pretty much anytime he was in the pocket. Shelly is super calm and doesn’t show to be nervous at all.

Distantute
ParticipantThere was no pass rush today.

ParticipantThis x100

ParticipantHe needs to take the runs when he has them. We could have had more points before half if he ran for the sticks instead of trying for a difficult play to Dixon.

Itacoatiara22
ParticipantUhhh…I know what play you’re referring to. He hit Dixon in the freaking hands and in stride going out of bounds. Not on Shelley.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantHe had the sticks wasn’t the greatest pass but yes in the hands.
-
Itacoatiara22
ParticipantI’ll take 40 yards in the hands of a receiver over three and a first down any day.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantHe had more than three. He had at least five and out of bounds to preserve clock.

ParticipantHe may have been to told to throw it if you can and only run it if you must. If he gets hurt, they’re down to Lisk and Hansen…

ParticipantTH had four forty point games before going down. So, I don’t think so. But. that’s just my opinion.
-
UteThunder
Participant*Three forty point games
The offense only scored 33 against Stanford.

Itacoatiara22
ParticipantOh, you mean *Moss did?

ParticipantI like the way Shelly plays. He seems a lot smoother than Huntley. There’s going to be a real battle in the offseason.

ParticipantA Huntley led offense would have put up 40 or more the last two weeks. He was on fire before he went down. The Utes were moving the ball well on ASU before he got hurt. Shelley has performed excellent but there is a reason why Huntley was “the clear number 1” until he got hurt. It is great to know we have Shelley if/when Huntley gets dinged up next season and that we won’t have to trot out a rs freshmen in 20′.

ParticipantYes we were on fire before he went down, but Huntley also had Moss at his disposal. I think Shyne has played admirably, but the drop off is still pretty obvious from #1 to #2.

ParticipantAlso, 30 is pretty nice in a blizzard.

ParticipantHuntley wasn’t having a great game prior to going down. He was 7 of 15 for 88 yards passing and had 42 yards rushing when he got hurt halfway through the third quarter.

ParticipantShelley has put up two Troy Williams stat lines and now he is the savior?

InactiveThe problem is we have really only seen four actually impressive games from Tyler.

ParticipantHealthy Huntley will keep his starting job but if he gets hurt or starts choking Shelly will be a bonified replacement I won’t feel stressed about. Shelly just had two excellent starts. I really like the kid. Just don’t see the coaches skipping their senior if he’s winning and healthy.
-
Itacoatiara22
ParticipantAsk Troy Williams how that went last year.
-

ParticipantTroy Williams?
-
Itacoatiara22
ParticipantYup. Edited.
