loss has an overall P12 record of 34-39. His overall MWC record is 35-13 (keep in mind 3-4 years of that success including the Sugar Bowl was impacted by Urban Meyer recruiting. Considering conference records only as head coaches, Coach McBride has an overall better conference winning % than KW.

Time to start looking at KWs results and ceiling of success for the program. Utah football spends over $1M a year on football recruiting, more than any other P12 public school and is near the bottom of the recruitng class every year. KW misses on a lot of local kids and gets poached by other P12 coaches who swoop in flip kids.

I know there are a lot of positives and other metrics to look at under KWs tenure. Can’t be ingnored the program struggles to play as a winning team and KWs success in P12 would get most coaches in good programs fired.

Sorry to burst your bubble man. But Whitt isn’t going anywhere until he retires. Either at the end of this contract or when he decides to hang them up before hand. The fire Whitt discussion is pointless. If you want to talk about other coaches under Whitt that’s a real discussion to have.

100% agree KW is not going anywhere until he retires. As long as the stadium sells out, he can not win another game and won’t get fired as long as fans pack the stadium at $100+ ticket prices. My point is his this is what Utah football will be for the next 3-6 years until he retires. As the seasons add up, KW is reflecting as a P12 .500 level record coach. 6-3 is his best record last year (and 2015). Year before in 2017 he was 3-6. I know there are a lot of variables in play.

You’re including his PAC 12 record before Utah was in the conference? Why?

Fair enough. Utah P12 record is 34-39 counting last night. I think coaches records get inflated adding in OOC records and bowl games. KW has a remarkable bowl game record in the P12 against similar record teams. Blown out by NW last year. All other bowl games were close. WV’s starting QB did not play. Two years Utah did not play in bowl game.

It’s honestly hard to argue against the conference record.

So did you compare the records of other conference teams over that period. Outside SC, Wash and Ore I would guess no one has a .500 record.

I’ll argue against it. Whitt has a winning conference record in 5 of the past 6 seasons.

If you lump in the first 3-4 years in the conference and Whitts records against the PAC10/12 when Utah was in the MWC yea its not going to look rosey.
