to play in for the 2019 season. What if Utah opened RES to the Raiders for that season? I understand that there are a few more likely options for the Raiders like the Sam Boyd Stadium or another stadium in the Bay area. But think about how cool it would be for an NFL team in SLC if even for a season.

I think that there is a win – win for the Raiders and Utah. The Raiders could expand their fan base into Utah. Utah could use the revenue that additional games at RES would bring. Who know maybe a deal would include the renovation of the south end zone before the Raiders play their season.

After a season of dealing with Raiders fans, the Zoobs will think of Utah fans as high society!

Utah has RES and LES.  LES would be good for Raiders fans.  The respective fan bases deserve each other.

LOL. That would be such a LDS thing to do. “You can’t play on Sundays…oh s**t, how much money would they pay us? Good Lawd. MMHHHHMMmmmm…YOU can’t play on Sundays, but we need to be accommodating and open to all. The Raiders can, but we can’t.”

Crazy thought: If we could get the stadium up to 55,000 by then, would the revenue from the Raiders being there one year cover a significant portion of expansion?

Having them play at Rice-Eccles on Sundays is a LOT more probable than in Tinkey-Toy stadium.

Would be fun to have an NFL season in Utah and I would take in a few games, but rather improbable.

It is unlikely to happen but a very interesting thing to speculate about. If the Raiders would be willing to “lease” the stadium and pay ahead of time. It definitely feasible for RES to be expanded by 2019 so that the Raiders could play in a 55,000+ seat stadium. Would be awesome, but unlikely.
