I’ve seen a couple of tweets, one from Rylan Jones and one from Branden Carlson, saying they are 100% committed to the U and Larry. So there’s that.

Yeah, I got a bad feeling.

Good and bad to see this. Doesn’t exactly make you super happy about it all. Wonder what Allen is going to do now. Makes me assume the worst.

Yeah so it’s like this current “event” we are in. If player’s don’t post their support for Larry via social networks does that mean they don’t support him?
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Different possibly. I guess you could accuse the players of virtue signalling in a way. Or they are trying to convince themselves.
I believe it should go without saying I guess.

I really like Rylan and Carlson, but I’d be fine with Timmy leaving. I’m at the point where anything and everything bad happening to the basketball program is a good thing if it gets us closer to cleaning house.
mediocre/bad coaching and losing mediocre/bad players to transfers was okay by me until we started losing players before they even arrived on campus. It would be awesome if he could do everyone a solid and step down.

I’m ready to see Larry move on, but thinking bad things happening to the basketball program is a good thing is a bad take. The worse it gets, the harder it will be for the next coach to turn things around.
The program doesn’t have to bottom out for Larry to be fired. Larry’s salary demands that he put a good, if not great, team on the floor every year. If he continues to be mediocre, he will be gone. We can recover from mediocre a lot quicker than we can from terrible.

I’m of the opinion that the faster he is gone, the better off the program will be in the long run. If bottoming out means getting him tf out of here now, rather than in two years, I’m all for it. His salary suggests we should have a top 10-15 team every year. He needs to go away.

Short of a major scandal, I don’t think he is going anywhere until the buyout is more reasonable.

chinngiskhaanParticipant
lol… I know, but I can dream.

Cool. Don with Larry. He is a college coach. He recruits the kids, coaches them and is responsible good or bad for the state of the program. Which has been disappointing for the lsat 5 years.

Well. Apparently Rylan Jones and Branden Carlson are not aware of this:
