We have a kicker who can put kickoffs in the endzone.

We have a punter who can boom the punts.

We can now kick FGs outside of the 20-yard line.

Our punt and kick coverage looked better.

All of this will make a difference throughout the season, especially in close games.

Most encouraging Special Teams play seen in quite some time.

My only concern after last night was that Becker kicks a fairly low ball. Perhaps it was because both of his tries were over 50 yards but I wouldn’t be surprised to see other teams pound the middle trying to get a block this year.

I was super impressed with the punt team. The punter was either booming 60 yards punts or pinning them inside the 5 every time. The fact that the coverage was so good even on the deep punts was impressive, too. Even the punt that didn’t count because of the dumbass penalty on Florida would have been inside the 5. So damn nice to have good special teams again.

I wouldn’t say “once again”. Our special teams have struggled, hard, for a couple years.
