Holding onto Ficklin may ultimately mean moving on from Isaac Wilson and we haven’t let go, yet. Dead heat, co-QB2 will only work for so long and whoever ultimately is made QB3 will probably transfer. You can argue that staying patient for a first and possible redshirt year might appease Ficklin to accept QB3, but Ficklin has already sized up Isaac and believes he is better. Combine this with what Ficklin may be hearing about last year’s rumored QB drama, partly involving Isaac, and Ficklin will not be patient for long.
Personally, I’d like to see the coaches make this decision sooner rather than later. We know the benefits and risks involved. Delaying this, even to keep kids from hitting the portal, has bitten us multiple times. Make a decision as soon as you know who the better QB is and get that guy your endorsement and reps.
