KeymasterThinking of taking my 8 year old down to the Arizona game and making a weekend adventure out of it. What else is there to do for us down there?

ParticipantAre you staying in Phx and driving down or staying in Tucson?
Are you driving or flying? From Where?

ParticipantPima air and space museum is cool. Weather should be perfect as a lot of it is outside.
If staying in phx the Odysea Aquarium or phx science center. The wolf creek lodge in phx has an indoor water park
San tan mall in Gilbert has a airplane hanger sized indoor jungle gym that would keep an 8 year old busy for hours. The Phoenix zoo. The hole in the rock trail is an easy hike

ParticipantDepends on how much time you have but Kartchner Caverns is supposed to be incredible. I haven’t made it over myself yet but the rest of the family has and raved about it. It can be a bit of drive depending on where you are staying.

ParticipantThis is an awesome experience! But you need to get reservations. Do it soon but be aware it’s probably an hour or more from Tucson.

ParticipantIt’s 90 minutes from Tucson but Tombstone is kinda fun if you like U.S. western history. It’s very touristy but Boot Hill cemetery, OK Corral, and the Bird Cage theater

ParticipantArizona-Sonora Desert Museum! They have an awesome Raptor Free Flight show that your son will love. We went the last time the Utes played down there. Also lots of other animals in an outddor desert setting. Museum is great also.

ParticipantIf you are getting a rental car much cheaper to fly into Phoenix and drive down but is 1 1/2 hours. Desert-Sonoran museum is cool. There is also a middle silo tour near Tucson. Also there is the Tucson Zoo. The bio done is cool but not for an eight year old. Just western edge of campus are lots of college bars and restaurants. There is a Marriott hotel next to campus and walking to stadium but may be fully booked. There is also an old mission nearby which is a great tour. Not sure what it is called but may be Catalina.

ParticipantIf you drive down south rim of the Grand Canyon is nice. If you go through Vegas bridge and dam tour is cool and meteor crater in northern az

ParticipantTucson in awesome. Already mentioned, Saguaro National Park – West(best) or East and Pima or the Boneyard at Davis-Monthan are quite uncommon things to see.
Go out Friday and return Monday, expand the weekend and the price drops.
