ParticipantBut Publix apparently isn’t a fan of the summa cum laude crowd.
-
Utah
ParticipantThat’s what you get with too much religion and not enough education. Smh.

ParticipantOr it is a technical issue where the coder didn’t except full phrases like cum laude and barred all instances of the word cum. More of mistake than an individual looking to screw up.

ParticipantDidn’t the article mention that she was worried about this happening and put instructions in the order on why she used the word “cum”?
Yes, she did:
Koscinski told the newspaper that she “explained that Summa Cum Laude was a Latin term for high academic honor and was not profane” in the “special instructions” box on the Publix website, and included a link that defined the phrase.

ParticipantHere you can go through this and find the grand religious conspiracy of cake decorators.

Participant@Utah – you seem to have some serious pent up issues with religion. There is no mention of religion in this article. There are many reasons why this may have occurred that have no relation to religion. I guess people see what they want to see.

ParticipantThat is the direction the article points @Utah he just runs with it. Hence the unnecessary Latin lesson. Wag the dog is Huffington 101.

ParticipantOne of the things I like about this board is that it has avoided the political and religious bashing that Utefans has become. If that is your thing Utefans is still up and running please go there.

ParticipantHa ha. The porn shoulders. The “I have the self control and sexual maturity of a 12 year old, but unlike my founder I’m not allowed to whore myself around with 40+ “wives” (even though he was never legally married to any of them other than one, thereby breaking god’s own laws), including young teens, and I’m worried that masterbation will cause me to become gay so I’m going to force a woman to be uncomfortable and cover up so I don’t assault her” shoulders.

ParticipantI love Huffpost articles they are so DELIBERATELY written to fire up people like @Utah. TOO MUCH RELIGION AND NOT ENOUGH EDUMACATION. The woman posts on a social media platform with BROAD filtering that limits free speech and the creator is being dragged through the mud on his filtering lately. She thought it was “overwhelming and crazy” and it was “humiliating for her teenage son”. Fake outrage when later they are laughing about it. Publix has internet gurus who design their website and surely the person who did it was hyper religious and ignorant. Then at the end they imagine that the term Vaginas would get by the filter because this same ignorant religious designer of the filter would know it meant sheath for a sword. Literally every Huffpost article follows this same format to fire up the same people over and over again.

ParticipantThat last bit with the Latin lesson was weird.

ParticipantJournalism literally is dead. I am kind of surprised they don’t have a check feature that tells the person purchasing it what it censored. Much like Facebook and Youtube they just demonetize and censor whatever they want.
-
Utah
ParticipantHa ha. I’m not fired up. You are.
I’m right though. Some person terrified of sex saw “cum” over-reacted and edited it out. Not a machine, a person. Had they had more education, they would have known what that phrase was. Had they had less God, they probably would have had some reasoning skills and looked into the phrase before editing it out, especially when she gave a reason for using the word “cum” in her order.
But, what happened is some self righteous dingbat didn’t read the instructions and was dumb enough to not recognize a very common phrase and decided to save the world with their editing skills to make Jesus happy.
It is what I said it was: too much religion and not enough education.

ParticipantYou are making up this person. Literally the cake maker did exactly what a computer spit out. You are jumping to your own conclusion. If she was so concerned why didnt she check when she picked up the cake?
-
ironman1315
ParticipantOr, the decorator did Wjat the computer said, and ignored the special instructions because they don’t get paid enough for this s**t. Just to hazard the guess the person was lazy or overworked and wasn’t on some religious crusade.
