He was on Talking Utes Sunday night with Vele. He is HUGE! I decided to go back and read his history. He was not even first-team all-state his senior year. He was a three-star recruit. Utah has developed this young man into a potential All-American. Because of injuries, he won’t be an All-American this season and he may decide to go to the NFL. However, if he comes back and stays healthy – I suspect he could be a 1st or 2nd round NFL pick.

On top of his size and ability, he seems to be a good guy.

I don’t know his financial situation but if he really wants to make some money, he needs to come back and ball out next year. The difference between being a 1st RD versus 3rd RD vs 5th RD vs 7th RD vs UDFA in the NFL are huge and compound on a yearly basis. I just saw a study where the difference in pay between a late 1st RD pick and a mid 3rd RD pick is around $2M per year. Multiply that by three or four and you’re talking a massive amount of money lost by not going higher in the draft.
