Will the team come out fired up again or will they be completely deflated and just ready to be done with the season when we play Colorado?
I’m leaning towards deflated.

Rose on the road. Not much to play for at all. Colorado at home, all hyped up. Love the defense, but Colorado has some serious talent on offense. Could get ugly.

The season is over. Maybe they get fired up for senior day against ISU but 8 straight loses is a real possibility and then the transfer portal is gonna gut this program.
Player from Texas Florida and such only come to Utah to win and get a lot of reps while doing it. When that isn’t happening like the last two seasons no reason to stay.
I set the over/under on transfers at 30

Based on my experience, teams that are going through adversity are always at the tipping point and it doesn’t take much to push them back into the failure cycle. It’s an early game on the road so I assume the team will come out focused and hyped.
But as noted philosopher Mike Tyson once said: Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. And how the team responds will show us their amount of buy-in. If they buckle down and fight for every inch, they’ll eventually figure out a way to get the job done. If things get chippy or people start “taking plays off”, we’ll know that they are just playing out the string.

After losing 4 straight, that BYU game was make or break for the season. If we had won, I think this team could have pulled out one or two more wins in the final three. But, losing the way we did, I don’t think we will even be competitive in any of these final three games.

Not a lot to play for at this point. This next game will show who wants to stay and fight or who wants to point fingers and walk away.

Insert Spiderman Finger Pointing meme. There’s going to be a lot of finger pointers.

Certainly could be a deflated team but I think we’ve got too much leadership on the defensive side to, at least, stop it from getting real ugly.

The defense has played with heart all year and kept us in every game. I hope that’s a good sign moving forward into next season.
The offense, outside of Bernard, has been pretty uninspired and gutless all year and I expect that to continue.
That said, for this game, this is probably the worst outcome going in. If CO sucked and dropped a few games their fans wouldn’t care, but with them being hot, they’ll actually have a home field advantage so their players will showboat and get the crowd in on big plays. I expect a relatively non-competitive game even if the score is closer.

Really hoping for at least ONE touchdown this year for Singer.
He deserves it

It is going to be ugly. Colorado still has a lot of play for. Utah, not much. I hope to be surprised but I have extremely low expectations for the rest of the season.

Hey folks, chin up…I remember traveling to see Utah play Oregon in the 2019 CCG in Santa Clara.
Utah had absolutely everything to play for, most importantly, a spot in the CFP.
Oregon had nothing to play for…if they won, they went to the Rose Bowl…if they lost, they went to the Rose Bowl.
What happened? Oregon 34 – Utah 15 is what happened…the moral of the story is never underestimate the motivation to s**t on someone else’s parade.

This Utah team doesn’t have it, last year’s didn’t have it. There’s no culture of winning and there’s no aptitude to back it up even if there were. We might win a game just out of randomness but there’s nothing left for anyone but someone who wants a shot at the draft to play for. There can’t be any unity if there’s no united purpose.

And Wilson’s gone for sure next year. Good riddance. He doesn’t have the it factor. I’d rather see the quarterback situation start from scratch.

Is this conjecture?
