ParticipantSo I have lived in Utah my whole life. Lived in Utah county for twoish years now and finally had Creamery Ice Cream. Gotta say it wasn’t that special. It had that freezer burnt smell and was super thick. Didn’t taste freezer burnt though.
Personally I think Farr Better is the best ice cream in Utah. Old shop next to the Ogden Temple. Easily the most classic flavors. My Dad’s favorite was always Grape Ambrosia. Grape Sherbert with Walnuts. The Licorice and bubble gum was my go to scoops when I was a kid.
Best Ice Cream I have ever had was in New Zealand. My taste buds were blessed on my mission but Hokey Pokey ice cream is a must try flavor before you die. Plain vanilla with honey comb toffee lumps. The Ice cream there is hard to describe it is just creamier, richer and full of flavor. -

ParticipantI’m really simple. Once I found Kroger Private Selection Mint Denali moosetracks, it was all over.

EagleMountainUte
ParticipantThat blueberry cheesecake flavor gives me moobs after a bowl or two. Haha

ParticipantBlue bell is the only acceptable answer here 😆

ParticipantHonestly, you’ll probably get better-informed answers on Cougarboard. Utah County church members have an unsettling fetish for ice cream.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantThat is like saying only cops like donuts. It is 105 buy yourself two scoops.

ParticipantHard to beat Leatherbys traci peanut butter cup. Vanilla covered in warm peanut butter and hot fudge. It slaps as the kids say.

ParticipantTillamook Marionberry Pie…and I’m a peanut butter chocolate and caramel guy! Little pieces of pie crust seals the deal!!
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantCannon beach or Astoria had this amazing place it was coconut cream pie ice cream. I think it was Tillamook that made it seeing how it is close by.

ParticipantIf you are anywhere near the tspp creamery do yourself a favor and head west to Rockwell ice cream. You will not find better ice cream than their honeycomb flavor

ParticipantActually the blue mint Aggie Ice cream is dang good. Again, I’m simple. Any combination of mint and chocolate and I’m happy. Does anyone remember Snelgroves Starlight Mint? Good stuff.

ParticipantThere was a caramel sundae at Leatherbys that loved as a kid. Also, up in Bear Lake I had a raspberry shake that was awesome. I was young and couldn’t tell you exactly where it was from, though it was right on the lake.

ParticipantGarden City, or maybe Lake Town at the south end of the lake, and yeah, a Bear Lake Raspberry shake is definitely a Utah delicacy. 😉
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantParis or Laketown has the best shakes.

ParticipantSnelgroves had great Ice cream and shakes that stood several inches above the lip of the cup.
My mother used to take me there (Sugarhouse off of 21st south) on the ols trolley system.
God I’m old.

ParticipantSo I have virtually tried all of the above. All are very good! But, I have to say if you want ice cream go visit Brookers ice cream in Utah County or Herriman. You will be converted with the first bite.

ParticipantNielsen’s in Bountiful. It’ll change your life.

ParticipantThey are good first time I tried them I went through the drive thru. It melts fast and started pouring all over. I held it out the window instead of getting my precious Jeep interior covered. Sit down and eat it at the store is the lesson I learned.

ParticipantSeconded on Nielsen’s. The one in Bountiful is the best for some reason but I got it up in St George, too. I’ve only ever gotten Oreo or Raspberry concrete.
As for store options, the Private Selection is amazing. Chocolate Ganache or Maine Blueberry Cheesecake.

ParticipantI have had every brand mentioned so far. Aggie Creamery at USU is by far the best in Utah. Tillamook is Oregon, and the best grocery store brand and great cheese. Just outside of Utah, drive to Idaho Falls to Reed’s Dairy. The best I have had in the west. But unless you have lived in the Midwest, you have not been to the ice cream Mecca. Guersney’s in Michigan is the best ice cream I have ever had. Malt Chocolate Chip. They even had a special full proof Black Russian flavor. Cough Cough pre-mission. Not sure how it froze with the Smirnoff mixed in.

ParticipantIt’s super hot outside and many of us have a sweet tooth made for ice cream.

ParticipantOk, we’ll go back to not posting anything other than questions and comments directed at Onlyu.
Everyone knows this site is better when it’s just dystopiamembrane all by his lonesome posting veiled religious pot shots, and other random stuff that nobody cares about.

ParticipantWell having avoided the creamery my whole life and trying some finally left me wondering. Ice Cream like most foods is full of nostalgia. But I don’t get the love for Provo Creamery.

ParticipantI’d highly recommend the special ice creams at The Creamery in Beaver. They have great small batch cheeses too. They had to double the size of their ice cream store after only 1 year because the line went out the door. Excellent!

ParticipantI’ve been wondering if it’s any good there. Next time I drive to Salt Lake I’ll have to stop and try it. I didn’t know they had cheese which is a huge weakness of mine.
-

ParticipantI guess I haven’t been there since they added the ice cream. I never knew about that place until my wife made me stop there on a road trip after we got married. Now we are always on the lookout for local dairy outlet shops so we can get some squeaky cheese.

ParticipantAggie Creamery Lemon Custard. Simple but wonderful!

ParticipantI always have to stop at Beaver Taco when I drive that way. I will have to swing by there some time.
